<p>The quickest method to clean your smoothie blender after each use is to pour 1/4 &#8211; 3/4 of water into the empty soled blender. It does not matter whether it is hot or cold water.</p>

<p>Add a little washing up liquid, replace the lid and blend between 30 &#8211; 60 seconds.</p>
<p>The embedded dirt inside the blender will have worked its way loose so you only have<br />
to remove the lid and rinse out at the sink.</p>
<p><span style="line-height: 19px;">If you use too much water it could leak out beneath the lid when blending the soap and water together.</span></p>

<p>Here are a few recipe ideas</p>
<p><strong>Smoothie with Amaretto</strong></p>
<ul>
<li>½ oz amaretto</li>
<li>½ oz kahula</li>
<li>1 scoop of chocolate ice cream</li>
<li>6 oz chilled espresso</li>
<li>Whipped cream</li>
</ul>
<p>Put the amaretto, kahula, chilled expressive and chocolate ice cream together and blend until it is smooth. Serve into glasses and spoon the whipped cream on top. Serves 1.</p>
<p><strong>Smoothie with Strawberries</strong></p>
<ul>
<li>8 strawberries</li>
<li>8 ice cubes</li>
<li>1/3 glass of vodka</li>
<li>1 lemon freshly squeezed</li>
</ul>
<p>Put the strawberries and ice cubes together and blend until they form a slush. Next add the lemon juice and vodka and blend until smooth. Serves 2.</p>
<p><strong>Smoothie with Baileys</strong></p>
<ul>
<li>1 ½ oz Baileys</li>
<li>2 ice cubes</li>
<li>1 small banana chopped</li>
<li>1 big scoop of coffee ice cream</li>
</ul>
<p>Blend the Baileys and ice cream together the add the chopped banana with the ice cubes and blend again. Serves 1.</p>
<p><strong>Smoothie with Baileys and Chocolate Mint</strong></p>
<ul>
<li>70 ml Baileys</li>
<li>1 large scoop of chocolate or vanilla ice cream</li>
<li>1 mint chocolate bar of Aero</li>
<li>2 strawberries</li>
</ul>
<p>Break the Aero bar into small pieces and blend. Next add the Baileys and ice cream. Serve into chilled glasses. Cut the strawberries in half and place on top of the Smoothie for flavour and decoration. Serves 1.</p>
<p><strong>Smoothie with Rum &amp; Coconut</strong></p>
<ul>
<li>100 ml rum</li>
<li>4 ice cubes</li>
<li>50 ml coconut milk</li>
</ul>
<p>Blend all the ingredients together until smooth and serve. Serves 2.</p>
<p><strong>Smoothie with Margarita and Watermelon</strong></p>
<ul>
<li>2 oz cointreau</li>
<li>4 oz tequila</li>
<li>2 ½ cups of seedless watermelon</li>
<li>3 tbs lime juice freshly squeezed</li>
<li>2 cups of crushed ice</li>
</ul>
<p>Cut the watermelon into 1 inch cubes and place into the Smoothie blender. Next add the rest of the ingredients including the ice. Blend everything until smooth. Serves 2.</p>
<p><strong>Smoothie with Blackberry Brandy</strong></p>
<ul>
<li>2 oz blackberry brandy</li>
<li>2 big scoops of vanilla ice cream</li>
<li>Blend both the brandy and ice cream together until smooth. Serves 1.</li>
</ul>
<p><strong>Fruit Smoothie with Champagne</strong></p>
<ul>
<li>This is an ideal smoothie to celebrate any occasion.</li>
<li>800 ml champagne</li>
<li>2 tbs lemon juice</li>
<li>2 ½ cups orange juice</li>
<li>¼ cup sugar</li>
<li>16 oz frozen whole strawberries unsweetened</li>
</ul>
<p>At room temperature thaw the strawberries but do not drain the strawberry juice. Next blend the strawberries and strawberry juice together with the sugar. Slowly pour this mixture into a pitcher jug and stir in the lemon and orange juice and finally stir in the champagne. Chill in the fridge. Serve over ice. Serves lots!</p>

½ cup frozen banana slices<br />
1 tablespoon peanut butter<br />
½ teaspoon vanilla extract<br />
¼ teaspoon ground cinnamon</p>

<p><strong>Sunshine Shake</strong><br />
1 medium orange peeled &amp; cut up into chunks<br />
1 medium banana peeled<br />
½ cup low fat vanilla yoghurt (add honey to taste)<br />
1/16 teaspoon cinnamon<br />
1/16 teaspoon nutmeg</p>
<p><strong>Banana Raspberry Smoothie</strong><br />
1 &amp; ½ cups pineapple juice<br />
1 cup vanilla yoghurt (add honey to taste)<br />
1 cup raspberries<br />
2 ripe med bananas peeled<br />
½ cup ice cubes (omit unless you used frozen raspberries)</p>
<p><strong>Crunchy Breakfast Smoothie</strong><br />
1 cup low fat milk<br />
½ Quaker oats<br />
1 banana peeled<br />
½ cup frozen berries<br />
½ teaspoon vanilla essence<br />
¼ cup vanilla yoghurt<br />
1/8 cup ground flax seed</p>
<p>This makes enough for an adult, schoolchild and small baby.</p>

<p>1 banana</p>
<p>3/4 cup of blueberries</p>

<p>3” cube of soft tofu</p>

Also included are any greens that can be used cold or hot or as a desert. Any greens from the bean family like green beans, broad beans etc. Peas, cabbage, broccoli, and leaks. Cucumber or fruit like gooseberries, limes, kiwi apples, or grapes.</p>
<p><strong>Yellows<br /></strong>When choosing any yellow colours include orange colours too. Good foods to eat would be carrots, corn, chick peas, yellow peppers, oranges, mandarins and bananas.</p>

<p><strong>Preventing Weight Gain<br /></strong>Eating foods suggested from the colourful foods above can help prevent weight gain as well as provide you with the right amount of vitamins, nutrients, antioxidants and calcium for your internal body.</p>
<p><strong>A Healthy Colourful Smoothie<br /></strong>It can be difficult eating your way through these foods especially if you lead a busy lifestyle so you have little time to prepare a meal. Investing in a smoothie blender would help to solve this problem as you could create soups, smoothies or blended vegetables or sauces for pasta which would save a lot of your time.</p>
<p><strong>Meats That Are Healthy For You<br /></strong>Any type of fish is good for you especially tinned fish like sardines, mackerel and tuna as these contain omega 3 which is excellent for your body. Fresh or frozen fish is good too and try to choose breaded fish rather than battered if you have a choice.</p>
<p>Chicken is also good as it contains protein and can be put into a variety of dishes, Mexican, Chinese, Indian, English etc. Both fish and chicken are low in fat.</p>
<p>Bacon, pork, gammon, sausages, beef and lamb should only be eaten once or twice a week as these meats contain more fat.</p>
<p><strong>Allow Some Treats<br /></strong>Cakes, biscuits, chocolate, pizza, alcohol, sugary drinks etc should be eaten more as a treat in moderation.</p>
<p><strong>Exercise<br /></strong>Exercise plays a big part in reducing your weight or maintaining it at a certain level.
